Jarosław Załęcki

Jarosław Załęcki is a Professor at the University of Gdańsk, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Department of Social Anthropology. He serves as Head of the Sociological Research Implementation Workshop and previously led the Department of Social Anthropology. His work spans urban sociology, collective memory, and national identity, with a focus on Gdańsk’s social dynamics.

Research Interests include urban sociology, collective memory, national identity, and the social dimensions of climate adaptation. His studies often integrate historical sociology, focusing on Gdańsk’s identity and its residents’ perceptions of urban spaces.

Scientific Contributions are reflected in awards for academic and organizational excellence. He has led municipal research projects and published extensively on topics ranging from social revitalization to intercultural relations.
