Jarold L. Cosby is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology at Brock University, located in St. Catharines, Ontario. He holds a PhD and leads the Qualitative Research Lab, focusing on healthcare decision-making processes among patients, physicians, and policymakers in both developed and developing nations. His research includes studies on cervical cancer screening protocols in Kenya, pediatric injury prevention, synthetic insulin use, and improving clinical trial methodologies. Dr. Cosby has secured funding from over 25 agencies including the Medical Research Council (UK), World Bank, and Canada Health Infoway.
He maintains affiliations as a Grant Reviewer for the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, serves on Brock University’s Research Ethics Board and Senate, and holds editorial roles in journals like Health Services Insights. Teaching focuses include qualitative methods, health promotion, and clinician-patient communication. Notably, he is currently not accepting graduate students for the 2020/21 academic year.
