معرفی
Dr. Jari Willing is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), within the College of Arts & Sciences. Their research focuses on developmental neuroendocrinology, particularly examining how steroid hormones and environmental factors influence brain development and cognitive behavior. Key research areas include the effects of endocrine disruptors on dopaminergic systems, interactions between maternal infection and toxicants, and the impact of blue light exposure during adolescence on prefrontal cortex and hippocampal development. Dr. Willing is actively involved in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students and supervising research projects. They teach courses such as Psychoneuroendocrinology (PSYC 3350) and Developmental Psychobiology (PSYC 4400).
Research Interests:
- Role of steroid hormones in brain development
- Environmental factors and endocrine disruptors' effects on neural systems
- Adolescent neuroplasticity and light exposure
- Developmental ontogeny of mesocortical dopamine pathways
Lab and Collaborations: While no dedicated lab page is listed, Dr. Willing’s work involves collaborations with researchers in toxicology, behavioral neuroscience, and developmental biology. Their studies often utilize rodent models to investigate neurodevelopmental outcomes.
Teaching and Mentorship: Dr. Willing supports student research initiatives, with a focus on fostering hands-on experience in neuroscience and endocrinology. They are open to taking graduate students and sponsoring undergraduate research projects.
