Dr. Jared Anderson is Professor of Couple and Family Therapy at Kansas State University. He holds Ph.D. in Family Social Science (University of Minnesota), M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy (Kansas State), and B.A. in Psychology (Graceland College). As AAMFT Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor, he maintains clinical practice specializing in couples therapy and sex therapy.
Research examines relationship development pathways, self-determination in dyadic functioning, and therapeutic change processes. Current investigations focus on autonomy-supportive interventions that enhance emotion regulation and relationship connection. Recent publications validate differentiation-based approaches to couples therapy and analyze systemic barriers to treatment access.
Substantial research leadership includes co-investigator roles on $2M+ U.S. Air Force Family Advocacy projects. Professional service includes editorial positions for Journal of Marital and Family Therapy and Family Relations.
