معرفی
Jared Field is a McKenzie Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, specializing in mathematical biology with a focus on evolutionary questions. His research spans human longevity, sleep evolution, animal risk management, and Indigenous kinship systems. He holds a DPhil from Balliol College, Oxford, and is affiliated with the Sydney Mathematical Research Institute through their Domestic Visitor Program.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science (Honours in Advanced Mathematics) from the University of Sydney (2014)
- DPhil in Mathematical Biology from the University of Oxford (2018)
Research Interests:
- Evolutionary Game Theory applied to human longevity and kinship dynamics
- Bayesian decision theory in optimal foraging and behavioral ecology
- Mathematical modeling of Indigenous Australian marriage rules and genetics
Scientific Awards:
- 2015 Charlie Perkins Scholar
Advising & Grants:
Currently mentoring potential Masters students in evolutionary biology and mathematics. His SMRI project explores generalizing parent-offspring conflicts, bridging evolutionary theory with mathematical frameworks.
Labs/Teams:
Affiliated with the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Melbourne, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on ecology and evolutionary biology projects.
