Jared Bruce

Jared Bruce serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Sciences at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). His research integrates surface science, photochemistry, and electrochemistry to develop fundamental understanding of light-driven chemical processes at complex interfaces.

His research focuses on Surface Chemistry, Photochemistry, Electrochemistry, and Atmospheric Chemistry, utilizing advanced techniques including ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) surface science, liquid jet X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (LJ-XPS), and operando characterization. Key research thrusts include: development of robust model systems for hybrid photocatalytic interfaces, investigation of solvation dynamics at liquid-vapor interfaces, and elucidation of structure-property relationships in photoelectrocatalytic materials for energy conversion. His group utilizes specialized instrumentation including liquid jet photoelectron spectroscopy systems, UHV surface analysis chambers, and electrochemical characterization setups.
