Dr. Janusz Jaworski is a Professor at the University of Physical Education in Krakow, where he serves as Deputy Director of the Institute of Sports Sciences for teaching and sports since 2025. He has been affiliated with the university since 1991, progressing through various academic ranks from scientific and technical employee to university professor. His primary academic home is the Department of Sport Theory and Anthropomotorics within the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport.
Dr. Jaworski earned his PhD in physical culture sciences in 1998 and was awarded the position of habilitated doctor of physical culture sciences in 2013. In 2017, he became an associate professor, and in 2019, he was appointed university professor at the University of Physical Education in Krakow. His educational background includes studies in physical education at the Academy of Physical Education in Krakow (1986-1990) and earlier technical studies at the Mechanical and Electrical School Complex in Żywiec (1981-1986).
Dr. Jaworski's research focuses on sports science, particularly in the areas of motor skills, anthropomotorics, biomechanics, postural stability, and coordination abilities, with special applications to combat sports like judo and racket sports like badminton. His work often examines how training affects physical performance, body composition, and motor coordination across different age groups and skill levels. He has made significant contributions to understanding the relationship between specific motor abilities and sports performance in elite athletes.
His extensive publication record shows a consistent focus on biomechanical analysis of sports performance, with particular attention to balance, coordination, and technical-tactical aspects of combat sports and badminton. Recent work has expanded into areas like the effects of hypoxia on balance, structural profiles of athletes in specialized training programs, and technical-tactical analysis of top-level competitors. His research methodology frequently employs advanced measurement systems like the GYKO Inertial Sensor for precise assessment of motor performance.

Dr. Jaworski has supervised over 60 master's and bachelor's theses and 2 doctoral dissertations. He has managed 3 and served as contractor for 2 research projects as part of the statutory research at the Academy of Physical Education in Kraków. His teaching responsibilities include Anthropomotorics for various physical education programs and Gerokinesiology, and he has participated in the Erasmus program, teaching "Motor learning" to international students.
As an academic leader, Dr. Jaworski served as Head of the Department of Sports Theory and Anthropomotorics (2016-2020) and previously as Deputy Director for Teaching and Sport at the Institute of Sport (2013-2016). He has been involved in curriculum development, including chairing the Committee for developing study plans for Physical Culture of the Elderly, and serving on the Commission for Quality of Education and Recruitment Committee for doctoral studies.
