Janos Takatsy

Janos Takatsy is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Niels Bohr Institute (NBI), University of Copenhagen, and a member of the Niels Bohr International Academy (NBIA). He is affiliated with the Astrophysics and Planetary Research group within NBI, conducting cutting-edge research in gravitational wave astrophysics under a prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship.

His doctoral work at Budapest focused on field theoretical descriptions of neutron star matter equation of state and phase transition signatures. Current research spans:

• Formation and dynamics of eccentric compact binaries
• Neutron star composition and tidal dynamics
• Effective field theories of strong interaction
• Gravitational wave signatures from neutron star mergers

His work bridges nuclear physics and gravitational wave astronomy to probe extreme matter conditions.

Dr. Takatsy has received the following recognition:

Funded by the European Commission, his Marie Curie project advances computational models of compact binary systems within NBI's Astrophysics and Planetary Research group, contributing to multi-messenger astronomy through analysis of LIGO/Virgo data.
