معرفی
Jannette Rodriguez Pallares is a Professor in the Department of Morphological Sciences at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. She is associated with the Center for Research in Molecular Medicine and Chronic Diseases (CIMUS). Her research focuses on neurobiological mechanisms underlying Parkinson's disease, particularly the role of the renin-angiotensin system, dopaminergic neuron survival, and cell-based therapies using mesenchymal stromal cells. She investigates neurogenesis regulation, oxidative stress pathways, and glial interactions in neurodegenerative contexts.
Her work includes studies on dopamine-angiotensin receptor crosstalk in neurogenesis, the impact of aging on brain systems, and translational strategies for enhancing graft survival in preclinical models. Key contributions address therapeutic targets such as Rho kinase inhibitors and NRF2 pathway modulation.
Research highlights include elucidating mechanisms of mesenchymal stromal cell-mediated neuroprotection, autoantibody effects on neuronal grafts, and molecular pathways linking angiotensin to dopaminergic degeneration. Her lab's efforts bridge basic science and translational medicine, aiming to develop novel treatments for Parkinson's disease.
