Dr. Janna Chimeli is an Associate Professor of Instruction in Analytics & Information Systems at Ohio University's College of Business, serving as Director of Executive Education in Partnership with Latin America (LAIOB, IBC) and Assistant Director of the One-Year MBA Program. With nearly 20 years of teaching experience across undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels, she specializes in judgment, decision-making, and analytics. She holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology (Cognitive Psychology - Judgment and Decision Making) from Ohio University (2015), an M.S. in the same field (2012), and a B.S. in Psychology from Universidade Gama Filho, Brazil (1997).
Her research focuses on information search processes, judgment formation, and decision-making dynamics. She has contributed to interdisciplinary studies bridging psychology and business education, including global mindset integration in curricula and strategic leadership models. Her work frequently explores cognitive biases, recognition heuristics, and the impact of early information on evaluations.
Dr. Chimeli has received notable recognition, including the 2024 Most Innovative Paper Award at NBES for AI-driven assessment tools and a 2019 grant for decision-simulation software development with Hungarian collaborators. She leads Ohio University’s Executive Education initiatives, designs innovative global curricula, and advises the Ohio Sports Analytics Team. Her consulting extends to local businesses, emphasizing data-driven strategies, and she mentors student international consulting projects.
Her professional service includes roles as a grant writer, academic director, and leadership in international partnerships. She has presented at major conferences like APS and ABEAI, showcasing work on ethical decision-making, strategic leadership frameworks, and unconscious thought theories.
