Janis Teruggi Page is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), joining in 2019 after a Fulbright appointment at Masaryk University. With a 20-year career in public relations and creative direction, she transitioned to academia in 2005, focusing on PR pedagogy and strategic communication. She has held faculty positions at George Washington University, American University, the University of Florida, and Zayed University, Abu Dhabi.
Her research spans public relations ethics, corporate social responsibility messaging, visual criticism of media and culture, and digital folklore. Notable works include the 2021 Sage textbook Introduction to Public Relations and the 2022 Wiley-Blackwell textbook Visual Communication Insights and Strategies, recognized for its innovative approach to visual theory and practice.
