Janice Brown is a Visiting Professor and ASPeR co-lead at the School of Applied Sciences, London South Bank University (LSBU). She holds additional roles as Teaching and Learning Lead in Psychology and Achieve Coordinator. Her academic journey includes a BSc (Hons) Psychology from the University of York (1993-1996), PhD from University College London (1996-2000), and a PGCHE from LSBU (2006-2007).
Her research focuses on early development in genetic disorders (e.g., Williams syndrome, Down’s syndrome), attention mechanisms in developmental disorders, and adoption impact studies. She also leads pedagogic initiatives to reduce awarding gaps in higher education. Notable contributions include studies on atypical face processing in infants with Williams syndrome and attention disengagement in Developmental Coordination Disorder.
Brown’s funded projects include interventions targeting educational disparities and adoption practices. She actively collaborates with PhD students and has published widely in developmental psychology and neuroscience domains.
