Dr. Janica Jamieson is a Senior Lecturer and Placement Coordinator in the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics program at the School of Medical and Health Sciences, Edith Cowan University. She has been with the university since 2012, contributing to the teaching of NUT5113 Dietetic Assessment and NUT6109 Individual Case Management, alongside coordinating hospital-based placements. As an Accredited Practising Dietitian, she specialized in critical care and surgical nutrition before transitioning to academia.
Her research focuses on health professions education, particularly programmatic assessment, which was the subject of her Doctor of Philosophy from Monash University (2024). She also collaborates with clinical dietitians on acute and critical care nutrition issues. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Health Science with First Class Honours (2016) from Edith Cowan University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics (2009), and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition (2008) from Curtin University of Technology.
Janica’s recent publications highlight her contributions to programmatic assessment, student agency, and educational strategies in dietetics. She has received recognition for her teaching excellence, including the Vice-Chancellor Staff Excellence Award (2017) and the Vice-Chancellor’s Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning (2024). Her work emphasizes enabling student self-regulation and lifelong learning skills, preparing them for effective workforce engagement.
