Dr Jani R. Bolla is a Royal Society University Research Fellow and leads the Molecular Biophysics and Structural Biology Lab at the University of Oxford, affiliated with Wolfson College. Their research focuses on understanding macromolecular interactions in pathogenic bacteria and plant organelles, integrating experimental techniques (native mass spectrometry, cryo-EM) with computational approaches and AI.
Current funding sources include the Royal Society, ERC/UKRI Frontier Guarantee Programme, Diamond Light Source, and the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery. The lab hosts graduate students and research assistants, with active collaborations across disciplines.
Key research areas include membrane protein dynamics, lipid/protein transport mechanisms, and structural biology of chloroplasts. Perspective students are encouraged to contact Dr Bolla directly via email or visit group meetings to explore project opportunities.
