Carol Robinson is a Royal Society Research Professor and Dr Lee’s Professor of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Oxford. She serves as Director of the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery and holds a Professorial Fellowship at Exeter College, Oxford.
- Education: PhD in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge (1980-1982).
Research Interests: Her work focuses on lipid binding to membrane proteins, membrane protein biophysics, and mass spectrometry. She has pioneered methods to study membrane proteins using mass spectrometry, advancing understanding of their structure and function in cellular processes.
Scientific Awards: Carol has received numerous accolades, including the 2023 John B. Fenn Award, the 2022 Royal Medal A, and the 2022 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Chemistry. She has been honored with a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2013 and is a Fellow of the Royal Society and the Academy of Medical Sciences.
