Janey Camp is an Adjunct Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Vanderbilt University's School of Engineering. She holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Vanderbilt, an MS and BS in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University, and an AS in Pre-Engineering/Psychology from Motlow State Community College. Her research focuses on geospatial technologies, flood risk management, climate change impacts on infrastructure, and STEM education integration. She has pioneered methodologies for enterprise risk management and spill management systems (SMIS 2.0), and organized a national summit on climate change and infrastructure in 2011.
- Research Interests: Holistic risk management, flood impact modeling, infrastructure adaptation strategies, K-12 STEM education, and coastal migration studies.
- Professional Memberships: ASCE, ASEE, AWRA, ASFM, Engineers Without Borders, TSPE, SRA, TNGIC, TISP, CEMR Network, VIEE, and Vanderbilt ACE.
Her awards include the 2015 Inspiring Women in STEM Award and multiple recognitions for community service and engineering excellence. She volunteers with TWISTER and the Adventure Science Center's Science Communication program.
