معرفی
Janet Wong is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, specializing in tribology and mechanochemistry. As a Reader in the Tribology group, she leads research on fluid behavior in confined environments and interfacial phenomena. Her affiliations include Applied Mechanics, Science and Engineering Research for Cultural Heritage, and Tribology. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008, focusing on confined polymers. Her work integrates experimental and numerical approaches to address industrial challenges in lubrication and material interactions. Her research group investigates fluid properties, additive interactions, and extreme condition tribology, funded by global industry and agencies.
Education: Ph.D., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2008).
Research interests include polymer dynamics, nano-tribology, fluorescence spectroscopy, and mechanochemistry. Her group develops in-situ measurement techniques to study velocity profiles, viscosity, and film formations in tribological contacts. Current projects explore green lubricants, catalytic processes, and material durability under high pressures. Collaborations with numerical analysts enhance fundamental understanding for industrial applications.
Her articles highlight advancements in gas lubrication, carbon film formation, and sustainable lubricant additives. Funded by European, Asian, and U.S. organizations, her work bridges academic and industrial needs. A Ph.D. opportunity in experimental mechanochemistry is available via her research page.
