Janet S. Rader

Dr. Janet S. Rader is the Jack A. & Elaine D. Klieger Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Wisconsin since September 2009. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology. Her clinical expertise spans cervical, ovarian, and uterine cancers, with a focus on minimally invasive surgery and chemotherapy.

Education & Training:

• Doctor of Medicine: University of Minnesota Medical School (2000)
• Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology: University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinic (2000–2004)
• Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology: Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York (2005–2008)

Research: Dr. Rader leads the Rader Lab, focusing on developing novel therapies for gynecologic cancers through clinical trials and molecular analysis. Her work includes investigating HPV integration in cervical cancer and genomic drivers of malignancies. She has secured NIH and American Cancer Society funding for her research.

Grants & Lab: Principal investigator for an NIH-funded study (2022–2027) exploring HPV integration in cervical cancer. Her lab collaborates on translational research to bridge molecular insights with clinical treatment strategies.

Clinical Contributions: Over 190 peer-reviewed publications and 26 book chapters. Active in leadership roles, including developing the Women’s Health Research Program at MCW.
