Janet Marcavage

Janet Marcavage is a Professor in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Puget Sound. A practicing artist specializing in intaglio and screenprint techniques, her work explores visual language through historical and contemporary printmaking traditions. She has exhibited internationally in Tacoma, Seattle, Portland, New York, Wales, and China, including a solo exhibition at the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in Wuhan.

• Education: BFA from University of the Arts (1997), MFA from University of Wisconsin Madison (2004)

Marcavage's research focuses on the evolution of printmaking techniques and their application in modern installation art. Her work has been recognized through multiple Tacoma Artists Initiative Project Awards, and she has contributed to publications like Printmakers Today (Schiffer, 2010).
