Dr. Janet Maguire is an Official Fellow at Queens' College, Cambridge, and holds the John Eatwell Fellow in Medicine. She serves as Director of Studies for Preclinical Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, supervising second-year Medical Sciences Tripos and Veterinary Sciences Tripos students in the Mechanisms of Drug Action course. Her academic affiliations include the Davenport Group in the Division of Experimental Medicine and Immunotherapeutics at the Department of Medicine, University of Cambridge.

Her research focuses on the human pharmacology of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) in health and disease, with particular emphasis on:

- Biased small molecule agonists/peptide antagonists for unmet clinical needs
With an H-Index of 50 and over 120 publications, she is recognized as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate. Her academic contributions include:
- Co-editor for the British Journal of Pharmacology's Concise Guide to Pharmacology
- Supervision of pharmacological experimental design and analysis
