Janet Huston is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Lyons School of Accounting at Texas Tech University's Rawls College of Business. She holds a PhD in Accounting from Texas A&M University (2010) and a BSBA in Accounting & Finance from Auburn University. Prior to Texas Tech, she served on faculty at University of South Florida and Arizona State University. Her expertise spans accounting education, financial accounting, and tax accounting. She currently teaches Accounting Research and Communication in the Master's program and Introduction to Financial Accounting.
Her research focuses on educational strategies in accounting pedagogy, corporate policy impacts, and executive compensation. Notable works include studies on automated learning tools for business writing mechanics and the relationship between LGBT-supportive policies and firm performance. Huston has published in journals like Journal of Accounting, Auditing, and Finance and Business Horizons.
Her career includes an internship at Deloitte's Private Client Services division. She actively contributes to curriculum development and maintains an engaged academic profile through Google Scholar and institutional collaborations.
