Janet Hamill is a Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Stirling within the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport. She is a registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with clinical experience predominantly in substance use services, including work with South Lanarkshire Council, NHS Forth Valley, and NHS Tayside.
Her educational background includes an MSc in Child Welfare & Protection from the University of Stirling (2013), with a dissertation focused on information sharing regarding parental substance use. Prior to joining the university in 2017, she worked with the Scottish Drugs Forum's National Quality Development Team.
Ms. Hamill's research interests center on mental health, alcohol and drug use, families, trauma, participation, and empathy, reflecting her clinical background and policy contributions.
