Janet Davies is a Lecturer and violin pedagogy expert at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney. She has over 25 years of teaching experience, including roles as Head of the Preparatory Division (now Rising Stars) and curriculum designer. Her work integrates the Alexander Technique with musical performance, emphasizing injury prevention and expressive interpretation. She teaches violin, chamber music, and orchestral studies, and conducts Alexander Technique classes for professional orchestras like the Sydney Symphony and Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestras.
Education: Studied violin (Robert Pikler, Dorel Tincu), piano, and harpsichord at Sydney Conservatorium. Completed a three-year Alexander Technique teacher training in 1985.
