Janessa Clark is a Lecturer in Theater at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she teaches dance improvisation, choreographic practices, and technology-integrated performance. Her work bridges dance, video, installation art, and socially-engaged practice, exploring themes of agency, identity, and technological integration in choreography.

- MA in Performance Practices and Research from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London
- BFA in Choreography from Arizona State University
Clark’s research focuses on dance improvisation, choreographic technology, and experiential agency, often involving hybrid live/screen works. Her recent projects include VOLTA (2024), a dance-tech piece at MIT, and A Torch in the Machine (2024), a dystopian film exploring AI’s role in choreography.
