Professor Jane Williams is Head of Research in the Equine Department at Hartpury University. Her research examines equine muscle adaptation, rider-horse interactions, and evidence-based training for performance and welfare.
Research applies surface electromyography (EMG) to assess training adaptations and develops frameworks for evaluating equine wellbeing. Recent studies analyze bridle pressure effects, rider physiology, and performance analysis in equestrian sports.
Co-edited 'Training for Equestrian Performance' textbook. Holds leadership roles including Honorary President of International Society of Equitation Science and trustee for equine welfare organizations.
