Vicki Walker is a Senior Lecturer in the Equine Department at Hartpury College. She serves as Programme Manager for the BSc (Hons) Equine Performance and Rehabilitation degree. Her academic background includes a DPhil from the University of the West of England (UWE), an MSc in Equine Science from the University of Edinburgh, and a BSc (Hons) in Equine Science from the University of Hull.
Her research focuses on equine biomechanics, training methodologies, and rehabilitation. Key areas include analyzing bridle/noseband pressure effects, kinematic adaptations during hydrotherapy, and optimizing exercise modalities for sport horses. She has published extensively on topics such as noseband tightness impacts, rein forces, and water treadmill training outcomes.
Walker is a member of the Equine Hydrotherapy Working Group and has presented at conferences on equine movement symmetry, thoracolumbosacral range of motion, and bridle comparison studies. Her work combines practical training insights with biomechanical analysis to improve equine welfare and performance.
