Professor Jane Owen-Lynch serves as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) at the University of Huddersfield and is an Associate Member of the Pharmacology and Therapeutics Centre. Previously, she was the inaugural Head of Biomedical and Life Sciences at Lancaster University’s Faculty of Health and Medicine, leading rapid growth in department size, funding, and student numbers. Her research focuses on biochemistry, biomarker analysis, and physiological conditions such as cerebrospinal fluid function and cardiovascular disease. She actively promotes gender equality, securing the Athena Swan Silver Award for her faculty. She leads projects like the European Commission-funded 'STEAM: Making Sense of Science through Art' (2016–2017), emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration between science and the arts.
Research Expertise: Biochemistry, Biomarker Research, Cardiovascular Ageing, Stress Responses, and collaborations across Physics, Psychology, and Biology.
