Dr. Jane Oorschot holds dual roles as Program Lead for the Tropical North Queensland Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at James Cook University's College of Business, Law and Governance. Her work focuses on human capacity building, leadership development, and organisational effectiveness in regional contexts.
Education & Experience: Jane holds a PhD in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour, with research exploring psychological contracts, leadership dynamics, and employee engagement. She has extensive experience in both public and private sector roles, blending technical expertise with managerial leadership.
Research Interests: Jane’s work examines the intersection of psychological contracts, leadership practices, and employee engagement. She specialises in developing practical frameworks to enhance governance, financial literacy, and small business capabilities through community-based programs. Current initiatives include regional talent development and drought resilience skill-building.
Publications: Her recent work analyses leadership styles in psychological contract fulfillment and explores employee engagement strategies. These studies contribute to evidence-based HRM practices in organisational contexts.
Program Leadership: Leading the TNQ Hub’s ‘Building Human Capacity’ initiative, Jane collaborates with educational institutions and industry partners to design training programs addressing governance, enterprise skills, and community leadership. She champions initiatives to strengthen regional capability through educational pathways and competency development.
