Jane Chong

Dr. Jane Chong is a Lecturer at the School of Psychological Science, University of Western Australia (UWA), and an Adjunct Research Fellow at the Future of Work Institute (2024–2024). She holds a PhD and Master’s in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from UWA. Her research focuses on work motivation, newcomer socialisation, and age diversity/inclusion, with a scientist-practitioner approach to enhance employee experiences. She collaborates with organizations to implement practical solutions grounded in self-determination theory and meta-analysis.

Research Interests: Jane’s work addresses challenges in aging at work, employee motivation, and organizational socialization. She explores how tailored HR practices and participatory interventions reduce job demands (e.g., in aged care) and promote inclusive workplaces. Her studies often involve meta-analyses and large-scale surveys, such as examining pandemic impacts on mature workers.
