Jane Morton is an Instructor in the Department of English at the University of Alabama. She holds an MFA from the University of Alabama, where she served as Online Editor for Black Warrior Review. Her research interests span ecopoetics, place-based writing, fabulism, and the practices central to a writer’s craft. She has published poetry and short fiction in journals including Gulf Coast, West Branch, Boulevard, and Cream City Review.
Her chapbook Snake Lore won the Black River Prize from Black Lawrence Press, and her full-length poetry collection Shedding Season is slated for publication by Black Lawrence Press in 2025.
