Jane K. Stoever

Jane K. Stoever is a Clinical Professor of Law at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. She serves as Director of the Domestic Violence Clinic and the UCI Initiative to End Family Violence, supervising students in legal interventions for abuse survivors. Her work spans civil, criminal, and immigration law, with a focus on gender-based violence.

Her research addresses systemic failures in domestic violence responses, including implicit bias in family law, reproductive coercion, and firearm-related fatalities. She has pioneered prevention education programs in schools and co-chaired the Orange County Domestic Violence Death Review Team.

Recent publications and presentations highlight intersections of technology, legal reform, and public health in domestic violence contexts. Her 2024 work on criminal convictions in family law and 2023 analysis of reproductive coercion exemplify her reform-oriented scholarship.
