Jane Holmstrom serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Biological Anthropology in the Department of Anthropology at Macalester College.
Her academic credentials include a PhD in Integrative Anthropological Science from the University of Central Florida and a Master's degree in Anthropology from the University of West Florida.
Dr. Holmstrom's research centers on reconstructing life history through stable isotope analysis and geographical information systems, with specific focus on diet and migration patterns. She has conducted archaeological fieldwork since 2011 across North America, Europe, and the Near East, and currently investigates how the Medieval Christian Church evolution impacted diet, mobility, status, and identity in southern France.
