Jane Guerin

Jane Guerin serves as a Senior Continuing Lecturer in the Department of Accounting at the Anderson School of Management, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She has been a dedicated faculty member since 1989, teaching business law across all three graduate programs (MBA, FEMBA, EMBA) and developing the nonprofit law and management course for the Social Impact Specialization. Her teaching integrates real-world legal experience to address practical business challenges.

Research and Professional Interests: Ms. Guerin specializes in Business Law, Corporate Governance, Mediation, Startup Companies, Tax-exempt organizations, and Nonprofit Law. Her work bridges legal frameworks with business operations, emphasizing dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and governance structures. She applies courtroom experience to classroom instruction, particularly in nonprofit management and corporate mediation scenarios.

Advising and Professional Engagement: She serves as Faculty Advisor for the Applied Management Research MBA program and Strategic Management Research program. Additionally, she instructs in specialized initiatives including the Head Start - Johnson & Johnson Management Fellows Program and Entrepreneurship for Veteran's with Disabilities Program. Her external practice focuses on nonprofit law and mediation for corporate disputes.

Professional Background: Prior to UCLA, she was general counsel for ASSE International Inc. and an associate at Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger. She has taught at UC Irvine and Pepperdine business schools, and previously served on mediator panels for the American Arbitration Association and Los Angeles Superior Court.
