Jane Cronin-Davis serves as a Guest Lecturer and Advisor in the Department of Occupational Therapy within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Üsküdar University. Originally graduating from York St John College in England, she earned her Master's degree in Criminological Psychology from Birmingham University in 1998 and currently holds the position of department chair at York St John University.
Her research focuses on the intersection of occupational therapy and mental health, particularly within judicial institutions. Cronin-Davis investigates how therapeutic interventions impact mental wellbeing in correctional settings and has developed expertise in evidence-based occupational therapy practices for mental health treatment. Her work bridges criminological psychology with therapeutic approaches, creating innovative frameworks for understanding occupation's role in both health maintenance and harm prevention.
Her publication record demonstrates evolving expertise from foundational work in evidence-based mental health practice (2006) to contemporary investigations of substance abuse behaviors (2016). These works collectively address critical gaps in occupational therapy's application across mental health settings, with particular attention to binge drinking behaviors, global educational standards, and evidence-based interventions. The research shows consistent focus on methodological rigor through interpretative phenomenological analysis and large-scale survey research.
Jane Cronin-Davis maintains active professional engagement through consultations, seminars, and workshops at Üsküdar University, sharing her expertise in occupational therapy applications. Her departmental leadership role at York St John University complements her guest lecturing position, creating a transnational academic presence that enriches both institutions' mental health programming.
