Jane Bambauer is a Professor of Law at the University of Florida's Levin College of Law and holds the Brechner Eminent Scholar Chair in the College of Journalism and Communications. She teaches courses in Torts, First Amendment, Media Law, Criminal Procedure, and Privacy Law, focusing on the intersection of technology and constitutional rights.
- Education: J.D. from Yale Law School; B.S. in Mathematics from Yale College.
Her research evaluates the societal implications of Big Data, AI, and predictive algorithms, particularly their impact on free speech, privacy, law enforcement, and government accountability. She has contributed to over 20 scholarly publications and serves as a contributing editor for Lawfare.
Professor Bambauer is currently Chair of the National AI Advisory Committee Subcommittee on Law Enforcement and previously served as deputy director of the NSF-funded Center for Quantum Networks. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, The New York Times, and other media outlets.
