Jananee Rasiah serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Integrative Nursing Systems at MacEwan University, bringing 18 years of combined healthcare and academic experience. Recognized among Edmonton's "Top 40 under 40" in 2021, she specializes in family nursing, community health, and leadership education across undergraduate and graduate programs while mentoring nursing, counseling psychology, and medical students.
Her educational credentials include a Master of Nursing (Alberta), Bachelor of Nursing, and Registered Nurse designation.
Dr. Rasiah's research program centers on frailty and aging through population-based administrative data analysis, examining home care characteristics and hospitalization patterns among older adults. As a committed mixed-methodologist, she pioneers patient-oriented research engaging families and caregivers in knowledge creation, while integrating arts-based knowledge translation approaches to foster empathetic understanding and behavioral change in healthcare practices.
