Jana Lohrova is a PhD Candidate in Global Health Policy and Tutor at the University of Edinburgh's School of Social and Political Science, with additional roles as a Research Assistant at The Epidemy Lab until December 2024.
Her educational background includes:
- BA in History of Science, Medicine and Public Health (with distinction) from Yale University (2012-2016)
- Master of Public Health in Epidemiology of Microbial Disease from Yale School of Public Health (2017-2018)
Her research examines the interplay between public health expertise and policymaking, particularly during the Czech Republic's COVID-19 response, grounded in historical analysis of epidemiological reasoning. She investigates infectious disease dynamics, social determinants of health, and planetary health within broader science-policy frameworks.
Her scientific recognition includes prestigious Yale fellowships and Edinburgh scholarships supporting her doctoral work.
