Jana Houser

Jana Houser is Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Geography at The Ohio State University. Specializing in radar analysis of tornadoes and supercell thunderstorms, her NSF-funded research examines tornado-ground interactions and topographic influences on storm intensity.

Research interests:

• Tornadogenesis mechanisms using mobile radar
• Terrain impacts on tornado behavior
• Severe weather forecasting and climatology

Recipient of multiple awards including University Professor Award, College Outstanding Research Award, and teaching honors. Leads storm chasing field experiences and mentors graduate/undergraduate researchers.
