Jan Wellik is a Lecturer in Sustainability and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She specializes in nature writing, environmental education, and interdisciplinary approaches to expressive writing. Her teaching includes courses like Introduction to Environmental Studies and First-Year Seminar, alongside roles in the Women's Studies Department's Self-Sufficiency Program.

She founded the Eco Expressions nature writing program for youth and co-led initiatives like the Sacred Spaces/Artful Living retreat at the Franciscan Spirituality Center, emphasizing holistic education through writing and art.
