Lauren Abbott Ferguson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Recreation Management and Policy at the University of New Hampshire. Her interdisciplinary social science research examines how ecosystem services—such as natural soundscapes and outdoor recreation—influence conservation decision-making that enhances human well-being.

Recent publications address soundscape thresholds, pandemic impacts on park use, and equity in outdoor recreation. Her work is supported by grants from the New Hampshire Agricultural Experiment Station, National Park Service, and Leave No Trace.
