Jan T. van der Veen

Jan T. van der Veen is a Full Professor at the Eindhoven School of Education within Eindhoven University of Technology. His work focuses on STEM education and sustainable development across secondary and higher education. He actively researches interdisciplinary approaches, teacher training, and the integration of socioscientific issues into curricula.

Key research interests include engineering education, education for sustainable development, and interdisciplinary pedagogy. His recent work examines challenge-based learning implementation in Dutch schools, generative AI in teacher training, and quantum physics teaching methodologies.

Van der Veen has supervised 12 academic works and teaches courses on educational design research, physics teaching methodologies, and professional development. He collaborates internationally on projects addressing educational sustainability and interdisciplinary barriers.
