Prof. Dr. Jan Martin Eickelberg served as Professor of Civil Law, Commercial and Corporate Law at Berlin School of Economics and Law until his passing in 2022. As Dean of Studies and former Vice President (2014-2016), he significantly advanced quality assurance, accreditation processes, and innovative teaching methods. His international engagements included visiting professorships worldwide.
Educational background featured a PhD in International Commercial Law (University of Münster), LL.M. from University of Cambridge, and additional Master's degrees in Sustainability Management and Higher Education. He integrated these interdisciplinary perspectives into legal education reform and curriculum development.
As trained mediator, Eickelberg specialized in conflict resolution and founded the Eickelberg Family Foundation supporting education in developing countries. His legacy includes pioneering digital legal education methodologies and strengthening international partnerships.
