Jan Jonsson is a Professor at Stockholm University working at the Swedish Institute for Social Research (SOFI). His office is located in Room F 948 at Universitetsvägen 10 F, 106 91 Stockholm.
His research focuses on individuals' living conditions, social stratification, and economic and social inequality. He examines contemporary living standards for adults and children in Sweden, analyzing how standards of living have evolved over time and across generations.
Jonsson leads research within the Level of Living (LNU) unit, which takes a multidimensional approach to studying inequality. His current projects include Interlocking inequalities: A multidimensional perspective on inequality in contemporary Sweden, which integrates analysis of economic resources, education, health and well-being across individual lives and generations, and YOUNGWORK: Early labour market outcomes of young adults, which investigates how labor market trajectories unfold during early adulthood.
