Prof. Dr. Jan Eckel is a Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at the University of Freiburg. His academic career includes prior professorships at the University of Tübingen (2016-2021) and the University of Cologne (2015-2016). He researches human rights history, transnational politics, and globalization discourses since the late 19th century.
