معرفی
Jan Dobert is a postdoctoral researcher at the Biomedical and Environmental Sensorsystems (EEMCS-EE-BIOS) group within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) at the University of Twente. He joined BIOS in June 2025 after completing his doctorate at the University Hospital Erlangen, where he studied the molecular mechanisms of Parkinson's disease and structural biology of protein interactions.
- Education:
- Bachelor's in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Kiel
- Master's in Neuroscience, University of Kiel
- Doctorate in Protein Biochemistry and Structural Biology, University Hospital Erlangen
Jan's research focuses on engineering bacterial pore-forming toxins (PFTs) for targeted cancer therapies. His expertise spans protein expression systems, purification strategies, structural and functional analysis, and cryo-EM techniques.
At BIOS, he applies his skills in structural biology and peptide design to develop cancer-specific toxin delivery systems.
His work intersects fields such as Protein Biochemistry, Neuroscience, and Biomedical Sensors, with potential applications in Cancer Biology and Drug Delivery.
