J.R. Bolter

J.R. Bolter is a researcher affiliated with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) at the University of Twente, specifically within the Biomedical and Environmental Sensorsystems (BIOS) group. They completed their Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biophysics at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, where they developed a strong foundation in optical microscopy techniques. Bolter gained hands-on experience in photothermal microscopy during their Master's work under Prof. Michel Orrit at Leiden University.

Currently, Bolter applies their expertise in a novel project with Dr. Sergii Pud, combining iScat microscopy with dielectrophoretic actuation of proteins in a technique termed ProAct. This work lies at the intersection of biomedical sensing and advanced optical methods, aiming to enable label-free detection of electrically trapped molecules. Their research aligns with the BIOS group's focus on developing cutting-edge sensor technologies for biomedical and environmental applications.
