I.M. Beskin is a Research Fellow at the Department of Electrical Engineering within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Twente. He joined the Biomedical and Environmental Sensorsystems (BIOS) group in the Spring of 2025 for postdoctoral research.
- Bachelor’s in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Michigan
- PhD in Physics from The University of Texas at Austin
His research focuses on measuring mechanical properties of microscopic biological filaments using optical tweezers, with applications in biophysics and biomedical sensor development. His current work builds on expertise gained in the Florin Lab at UT Austin and is conducted under the mentorship of Prof. Sergii Pud in the BIOS group.
Beskin is affiliated with the MESA+ Institute at the University of Twente, which specializes in nanotechnology and sensor systems. His research bridges physics, biomedicine, and materials science through the development of advanced optical measurement techniques.
