Jan Christian Pinsch

Jan Christian Pinsch is a Lecturer for Special Tasks in Church History at Bielefeld University’s Department of Theology and Diaconal Studies, Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology. He also serves as an ERASMUS Representative for his department and is a member of BiSEd (Bielefeld School of Education) within the same faculty.

• Research Focus: Anti-Semitism, Church in the Nazi Era, Holocaust Research, Group-Related Misanthropy and Religion, Right-Wing Christianity, Biblicism, Evangelicalism, Culture of Remembrance, Interreligious Dialogue, Pop Culture and Religion.
• Additional Roles: Active in the Network for Religious Education and Theology Critical to Anti-Semitism and Racism (narrt), Study Group Church and Israel in the Rhineland and Westphalia, Theological Society for POP Culture and Religious Research (pop.religion), Transdisciplinary Research Center for Popular Music Cultures and Creative Economies (C:POP), and Center for Comparative Theology and Cultural Studies (ZeKK).
• Professional History: Research Associate at the University of Paderborn (2019–present), Lecturer at Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg (2022–2024), and Research Associate at Würzburg University’s Center for Anti-Semitism Education (2024–2025).
