Jamie Wilkinson

Professor Jamie Wilkinson is a Professor of Geology at Imperial College London (2019–present) and LODE Director at the Natural History Museum, London (2014–present). He holds honorary roles at University College London (2020–), University of Tasmania (2010–), and has served as Reader and Senior Lecturer at Imperial College. His research focuses on geochemical processes in hydrothermal systems, including ore formation mechanisms, applications of AI in mineral exploration, and metal isotope tracing. He has been invited as a keynote speaker at major conferences such as the Gordon Conference on Geochemistry (2018) and the Geological Society’s Fermor Meeting (2017).

Education: PhD in Geology from University of Southampton (1986–1989), BA (Hons) in Geological Sciences from Cambridge University (1983–1986).

Affiliations include the Earth Observation Network, London Centre for Ore Deposits and Exploration, and Climate and Health initiatives. He has supervised numerous PhD students who have won awards such as Rio Tinto Student Talk Prizes and SEG Fellowships. His work spans global collaborations and contributions to mineral exploration methodologies.
