Dr. Jamie Stacey is a Lecturer in International Development at Swansea University’s School of Social Sciences, within the Politics, Philosophy and International Relations department. He holds a PhD in International Relations from Swansea University and has been a visiting scholar at the EU Centre in Singapore. His research focuses on human rights contestation in Southeast Asia, particularly ASEAN’s role in shaping regional discourse, and moral philosophy inquiries into obligations and selfhood. He teaches modules on global justice, research methodologies, and social sciences.

Research Interests: Jamie’s work bridges international relations and philosophy. In IR, he examines how actors redefine human rights norms, with a focus on ASEAN and EU dynamics. His 2020 book *ASEAN and Power in International Relations* (Routledge) analyzes regional power structures.
Teaching & Pedagogy: A Fellow of the HEA (2022), he employs innovative methods like storytelling and interactive props. He supervises postgraduate research and teaches courses on global justice, political research, and social science foundations.
Publications: Recent work includes a 2023 article on ASEAN-EU human rights discourse in *Journal of Current Southeast Asian Affairs*. His debut novel *All the Waves, Calling* (2023) explores themes of resilience and hope.
